Blood Upon The Snow: Hozier and Gaming

Hozier's new release is with composer Bear McCreary for the new game "God of War: Ragnarök". While this new release may come as a shock to some, to others, it creates new exciting ways to be able to interact with Hozier and his music.

According to the statement he released through email to his fans, Hozier has always been somewhat of a gaming fan since he was a kid. "As a child of the 90's, I have been interest in the digital arts ever since my uncle gave me a Super Ninetendo" wrote Hozier. He noticed the last release of the God of War series was quite "game changing". So it was a no brainer when he heard he got to work with composer Bear McCreary to create a new song for the newly released game.

While most know Hozier to be quite methodical in his lyric writing process, he stated that "making 'Blood Upon the Snow' was quite independent" of his normal process. For video game songs, the beats of the songs have to match the gameplay and the themes have to match the story and universe of the game. Hozier stated it was a "fun challenge to introduce into the music."

Along with this statement he also announced that he is "working furiously" on the new album. I, for one, cannot wait to hear more from "Unreal, Unearth"!
